Could you install any details now to save money when you complete it in the future (e.g. framing now to install skylights when your budget allows later)?

Depending on the scope and complexity of the project; your skills and time, will you need one or more of the following to complete the work?

• Handyman
• Your helpful ACE Hardware associate, for example
• A licensed contractor, electrician, plumber, engineer, and/or other artisans?
• A project manager or owner's representative?

Project details will, of course, determine the steps for completion.  Your local Building department officials or construction professionals will know the process and any issues that can stop or change the project.
