Aging in Place is the concept that seniors, handicapped individuals, and others can remain in their homes, and/or take advantage of lower-cost outpatient care with appropriate modifications in the home that will meet their mobility, safety, access, and related needs.  

By adding handrails, widening doorways, and lowering countertops, to name only a few measures, we can increase the person's comfort, safety, and productivity while delaying or possibly eliminating the need to leave home.
