"Creativity & Expertise...Together"

The Green Building Toolkit is a set of new policies to guide the Somerset County public sector on how to design and implement high performance buildings. This toolkit is the first of its kind in New Jersey, and possibly, anywhere else in the country. It was created by a Green Building Design Task Group, under the auspices of the Somerset County Business Partnership, with significant financial support from Johnson & Johnson,
HSBC, and AT&T. These resources provided the financial wherewithal for the Partnership to enter into a collaboration agreement with the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Center for Architecture and Building Science Research.
Simultaneously in the future, you will be hearing and
reading more about LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), a voluntary, consensus-based national rating system for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. Developed by US Green Building Council, LEED addresses all building types and emphasizes state-of-the-art strategies for sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials and resources selection, and indoor environmental quality. LEED is a practical rating tool for green building design and construction that provides immediate and measurable results for building owners and occupants.
