We removed an old carpet in a 16' x 20' room, boxed exposed heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) ducts, designed and built book cases and cabinets, installed cork flooring, replaced interior trim, and repaired 160-year old windows that hadn't worked in years.  Spera Electric fixed the lighting, and our wall paper hanger "partner" added the finishing touches.

Before: Open the dining room closet door and find a dark space that doesn't serve the homeowners well.

After: Custom designed and built oak bar

  • The door no longer sticks, new hardware accents the formal dining room, and the door actuated switch turns the lights on automatically.

  • Butcher block fold-down counter adds almost six more square feet to new built-in work space.

  • Four drawers for linens and other dining room necessities.

  • A custom-built wine rack with accented back lighting (yes, the wine rack can be disassembled in just a few minutes to service the lights).

We remodeled all but one of the home's five and a half bathrooms.

  • We took this and other baths down to the studs, and repaired 160-year old floor and wall framing with specifications by Ken Quabeck, RA (Quabeck Architecture, LLC), who guided us on many repairs,

  • Built a custom shower stall, and repaired a water-damaged window,

  • Spera Electric upgraded lighting and electrical service,

  • Jack Dolan and Sons completely replaced plumbing and HVAC, and added radiant heat,

  • Sorge & Garthe installed the high-end tile as specified by the client's interior designer.
