Helping to Rebuild Along the Gulf Coast

On Monday, the 10th, we got out into the community, not knowing what to expect. Yes, people are still living in trailers.  Some are still rebuilding, and others have given up and abandoned their former homes.  Apparently, some immoral builders and remodelers showed up after Katrina, Rita, and Gustav, took a down payment from unsuspecting homeowners, and promptly breached their contract.  This is the reason that NARI has a vetting process for our members and NJ enacted the Contractor Registration Act.  In some cases, well-meaning volunteers were simply unable to perform professional-quality work, that regretfully  had to be redone.
