Bridgewater, NJ - Many of the homes in the Bradley Gardens section of Bridgewater were built from the 1920's as seasonal vacation cottages, and evolved into full-time residences. At that time, with no building code in place, good structural specifications and construction took a back seat to "common practice" and economical building. Our clients found soft flooring in their bath room and that half of the floor framing had settled at the outside wall. On inspection, we found the crawl space full of wet, fallen insulation and various construction debris, framing that had dropped by as much as two inches over 12 feet, too much moisture cause by no ventilation, and that improper plumbing had allowed water leaks to damage the floor structure.
